Strathcona County feels like home, and Agile Ag operates from a base in Josephburg, just east of Fort Saskatchewan and NE of Edmonton. This region boasts deep, fertile soils and long daylight hours in the summer that permit growing a much wider range of crops than might be anticipated from the latitude. While canola is king, this area is also home to a large seed potato industry, forages, corn, wheat, barley, oats and many other crops.

Saskatchewan boasts 40% of Canada's cultivated farmland and the Saskatoon area provides easy access to rich soils in the Dark Brown and Black soil zones. Often called the bread basket of Canada, Saskatchewan has the most acres of cereals, pulses (lentils, peas, chickpeas) and canola in Canada, while also producing a diverse range of crops that includes potatoes, vegetable crops, corn, camelina, safflower, sunflower, and more...

Not to be outdone, central Manitoba has a cropping list almost as diverse as the Fraser Valley due to rich soils, a long frost free period and generous heat units (for the prairies!) due to the moderating effect of Lake Manitoba to the north. This region also enjoys higher rainfall than our other prairie locations, which means good things for clients wanting to test products or varieties against pathogens.
